Songs on the banks of the river Teifi

 
Learning Traditional songs together in Welsh and English by ear. No need to be a Welsh speaker as the songs are a perfect way into the language. No need to read music.

The focus is on melody including call and response and chorus song rather than choral/harmony singing.
 
WHERE : The Powerhouse gallery and arts centre, Llandysul
 
WHEN : Sat 22nd and Sunday 23rd Aug 2026
 
COST : £90 including homemade lunch on Saturday
 
TIME : Saturday 10- 4pm and Sunday 10-12.30pm
Non residential, limited to 15 places

The timetable gives plenty of time for walks by the river and to explore the village and local area. For those coming from away there are plenty of accomodation options in and around llandysul, including camping. I'm happy to help.
 
TIMETABLE :
 
Saturday morning session : 10-12.30pm
 
Learning two Welsh language songs by repetition, call and response and writing the words phonetically. Pen and paper will be provided.
 
Homemade lunch provided in the Powerhouse 12.30-1.30pm
 
Saturday afternoon session : 1.30 -4pm
 
Learning two English language songs, one from Wales and one from outside Wales for comparison
 
Sunday morning session : 10-12.30pm
 
A chance to sing all the songs again, go through spellings, syntax, scansion, social and historical context,
make recordings and discuss anything else that has arisen.
