About us
The community and arts centre will be a place to meet, have fun and learn .
Prior to the refurbishment the centre was used for art classes, workshops, music, social meetings and gatherings, open days, training days, capacity building workshops, art exhibitions, local history society exhibitions and canoe events, working in partnership with the Llandysul Paddlers.
As one person, who has now become a well know artist said, “it all started in a lifelong learning centre I attended after I retired. The Tuesday morning art class has given me a new lease on life, I discovered skills I did not know that I had”.
This is the vision of the Powerhouse, to develop the Powerhouse as a creative opportunities provider for an alternative curriculum , to give everybody in the community the opportunity to have access to learning and social inclusion covering and including the needs of all. This meets the aims and objectives of the Powerhouse, and has been the intention of a committed group of volunteers who have worked together for 10 years to bring the building back to use for the community.
We are looking for volunteers to help us at The Powerhouse, please contact Suzanne if you have time to spare and you would like to share in the fun with organising different events and childrens activities.0155936 4947.
In December 2006 the committee registered as a Company with Companies House.
